Historic Railroad Hiking Trail to Hoover Dam

When you think of Nevada you think of the Glitz and Glam of Las Vegas but Nevada offers so much more than just casinos and the night life within the casino walls. We traveled to Nevada on a Wednesday morning in February for a work trip. I have been wanting to do some of the hikes by Lake Mead but not during the summer when … Continue reading Historic Railroad Hiking Trail to Hoover Dam

Zion, Utah ~Youth Deer Hunt ~ 2021 Season

October 13, 2021 The youth program in Utah is amazing. Alyssa has been drawn 3 years in a row for Utah. She got drawn for the Zion unit again. We decided to do the early hunt this year which starts on October 13th. Dove Opener – 2021 Season

Red Cliffs Recreation Area ~ Utah ~ Day 2

We did a quick road trip with the family to Utah from California on weekend. After a leaving Zion National Park a little disappointed due to the overcrowded areas we hit Red Cliffs Campground in the Red Cliffs Preserve. The hike on Red Reef Trail was amazing. The views were breathtaking and the trail was easy enough for all the kiddos. And the best part was it was away from the crowds of Zion. Click here to read about our hike with clickable locations. Emerald Pools ~ Utah ~ Day 1

Day 1 of our 2 day trip to Utah seemed to be a little bit of a fail for us. We got a late start which put us in the middle of the mass of people. It made the beauty of Zion not so beautiful as we fought for prime viewing spots with the hundreds of the people that were fighting for the same view. We are not used to planning our trips and going into Zion or any popular national park for that matter takes planning. You can’t just wing it if you want the most of your experience. You don’t have full access to the land like we are used too; there are shuttles, road closures, so many rules and masses of people trying to do the same thing you are. My First Trip to Idaho

I got a chance to visit Idaho just outside of Boise this month and was amazed by the beauty of our country.  We hiked, fished, hunted and explored for 4 days and still weren’t able to do or see everything we wanted too.  The time we spent in the backcountry took my breath away.  Just this year I have been introduced to hunting and I am … Continue reading My First Trip to Idaho
