Only 2 Days in Idaho? Totally Worth It.

Fishing, waterfalls, and wide-open spaces we didn’t want to leave.

We packed up the truck and set out for a quick two-day trip through Southern Idaho—just enough time to unplug, slow down, and find some peace in places that weren’t crowded, hyped, or overrun.

And honestly? Those two days were exactly what we needed.

Day 1 – Blue Lake, Idaho

We kicked things off at Blue Lake—tucked away and calm, surrounded by forest and rimmed with rocky edges. We spent the entire day there just fishing, casting lines, breathing deep, and letting the pace of life slow way down.

The water was clear, the air was cool, and there wasn’t a sound except the occasional ripple and the hum of our own conversations. These are the kinds of spots that don’t ask for much—just your presence and maybe a rod in hand.

We didn’t rush. We didn’t plan every second. We just were. And that felt pretty rare.

Day 2 – Perrine Coulee Falls & Shoshone Falls

We were up before the sun on day two, chasing waterfalls before the crowds arrived.

Perrine Coulee Falls

This spot is just off the road—but you’d never guess it. We had it completely to ourselves at dawn. The sound of the water crashing down through the canyon echoed around us, but somehow, it felt quiet.

You can walk under the falls, which we absolutely did—soaked, laughing, and feeling small in the best kind of way. It’s one of those moments that sticks, not because of how loud or grand it was… but because of how present it made us feel.

Shoshone Falls

Just a few miles down the road was our final stop—Shoshone Falls at sunrise. We got there early enough to beat the crowds and caught the first light hitting the canyon walls.

There wasn’t much water flowing that morning, but it didn’t matter. The place was still powerful. The silence, the scale of the canyon, and the way the cliffs caught the light—it all hit just right.

Sometimes it’s not the roar of a waterfall that moves you—it’s the quiet around it.

Final Thoughts

There you have it—two quick but unforgettable days in Idaho.

You’re not promised tomorrow.
So if you get the chance to pack up, hit the road, and go find something beautiful—take it.

These are the moments that stay with you.
